Canaan Valley WV National Wildlife Refuge NWF Photographer Residency Program

The Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge has announced a photographer residence program. This new program offers photographers the opportunity for free lodging, and a display space at the NWR Visitor center in Canaan Valley. The program also offers special access to a high mountain elevation refuge area which is around 3,400 – 4,400 feet in the Allegheny Mountain area.

Canaan Valley is a very unique wildlife area, that is nestled in the West Virginia mountains; which hosts a diverse and abundant group of wildlife.

Those who wish to participate will be selected on a first come first serve process. The refuge official will utilize a lottery type system when multiple requests are submitted by photographers for the same month.
