West Virginia State Park Civil War House

This picture is from an old Civil war house in West Virginia.

It is from Carnifex Ferry Battle Field which is near the Gauley River canyon just outside of Summersville.

The home is called the Patterson house and is actually a museum.

Behind this house are trails that can be hiked to enjoy the surrounding woods and forest.

This is one of the oldest state parks in West Virginia.

They usually have a civial war re-enactment every year here at Carnifex.
