This fawn lies motionless as I take it’s picture for over 15 minutes. This is quite rare to find in the wild but it is a possibility. Surely the mother is somewhere nearby and it is critical to the fawns survival that you never touch them or handle them at all! After about 15 minutes this beautiful creature stood up and staggered away into the brush. My heart was pounding as I took it’s picture and I had to get about 100 exposures because of camera shake.

West Virginia has whitetail deer everywhere, however it is best to have a blind set up in order to get a good picture. Bears are quite elusive and are very rare to see, unless you know the best places to find them.
