A very large Bison in the winter standing in the snow next to some trees. These animals are massive and one could certainly trample an unwary photographer if he were careless. Imagine that millions of these animals roamed through America only 150 years ago.

A West Virginia Mountain Cougar in the winter snow. This Mountain Lion is from the West Virginia Wildlife center just outside Buckhannon WV at French Creek. I did some touch up on the background to give more realism to this wildlife scene.

This beautiful West Virginia Bobcat is setting perched up on this tree in the middle of the winter. It sees me, but I don’t know if it knows I can see it. This amazing cat is nearly 50 feet high in this tree. It is literally astounding that they can climb like this.

Snow White Country Church in the early morning in the mountains. Surrounded by winter country scenery and snow covered hills this is a beautiful site to behold.

One of the most elusive creatures in the forest the mountain cougar or mountain lion as sometimes called, is one of the most beautiful animals in the American forests. Here we see an awesome female mountain lion in the winter time as the snow falls around her. Often called a panther in the southern states this predator can reach weights of 200 pounds or more.

The sun is rising at this little white country country church during a cold winter morning. This little white church is on top of a mountain near French Creek West Virginia. The snow has not been disturbed and looks soft and new from the night before.

Whitetail Buck Male Deer walking with his tail up in the winter snow. He can certainly sense something as their tail sticks straight up in the air when they are alerted to something. This big fellow has 9 or 10 point on his rack.

Snow covers yellow daffodil flowers in the early spring. These beautiful flowers come out every year showing the flower blooms that have been hidden in bulbs all winter long under the ground. These are always the first flowers to show.

Winter creek reflection snow covered trees. After the Snow has fallen I went out to take some pictures with my digital rebel 350. As I was driving out Manilla Creek I saw this wonderful winter scene.
