Just above Harmon West Virginia we find this quaint mountain village scene. In the peak of the fall foliage season the bright red colors throughout this valley seem to glow in the late evening sun.

Mountain laurel flowers are beginning to bloom in the high peaks of the Dolly Sods wilderness. Early in the morning as the sun is breaking through the early morning clouds the flowers eagerly await the warmth of the bright rays.

As a storm cloud approaches the sun tries to shine through behind the autumn trees that cover this mountainside. The cloudy autumn sky filters the light casting a redish autumn hue upon the colorful leaves.

Vibrant fall colors across the trees in upon the mountain tops glow in the evening sun. The clouds above highlight the last glimpses of the autumn sun at the end of the day.

Wonderful Autumn Sky Mountain View high above the Monongahela Forest from Spruce Knob. This is the highest point in West Virginia. This image was taken early on an Autumn morning from the observation tower opposite from the sunrise. The sun had just began to peek out from the horizon. The colors of the distant sky make this a unique and colorful picture of the sky and Mountains below.

The sun is rising at this little white country country church during a cold winter morning. This little white church is on top of a mountain near French Creek West Virginia. The snow has not been disturbed and looks soft and new from the night before.

The sun is setting through the autumn trees and leaves in this beautiful foliage sunset scene. My son and I have been squirrel hunting all afternoon and I even laid down at the edge of the field to take a nap. After a while it started getting a little cooler since the sun was setting behind the trees and hills and the temperature dropped. My son came walking back and we heard something moving over the hillside and walked over to the edge of the treeline and this is what I saw. My thoughts quickly changed from hunting to photography as I grabbed my camera to get this picture.

Early in the morning viewing the autumn colors from the mountainside of Spruce Knob, WV. Here we are looking toward the western side of Spruce knob and the sun is just now rising behind us. The fall foliage scenery from up here is simply amazing in the late evening and early morning. Since there is no shade on the highest mountain in West Virginia the only way you can get subtle colors for photography is during an overcast day. Just over the hill is a little road where I have set and listened to my radio at night. Believe it or not I could pick up a radio station from Huntington West Virginia clear as a bell, which is about 200 miles away.
