Picture of two Large Buffalo grazing on old grass in the snow. These bison are huge animals and could easily trample a person. I am keeping my distance as I try to capture a good perspective and composition of these magnificent animals eating in the winter.

A picture of an otter running and sliding in the snow as he plays during a winter snow storm. The snow is flying up in the air as he rounds this turn chasing after his friend. These two otters played for along time and they were fun to watch.

Wild Boars have got to be the most ugly animals I have ever seen. Nonetheless they are a wild animal that is found throughout our region. This one snow on his snout and I happened to catch him looking in this direction. There we actually two here as I took this picture. Not sure if I will post the other picture. They are just so ugly it is hard to compose an image of them from any angle that is good.

I really enjoyed taking pictures of these otters. They were really funny. They not only played really hard but they acted like best buddies. This one here is sticking its tongue out as I take this picture. They seem to be very content in the snow and even probably like it by the way they are playing.

A rugged winter waterfall deep in a mountainous ravine. Here I am trying to capture the essence of the water flowing from the hillside into the creek that is rushing below me. I am actually standing on a big rock in the middle of the creek. This was taken during one of the biggest snow storms of the winter. The toughest part about taking this image was the amount of snow that was sticking to the lens. This was a beautiful sight to behold unlike any we had seen before.

Playful Otter running in the snow. I wish you could have seen these otters. They were so funny they ran and played for a long time. They seem like such playful creatures just like a couple of kids running and sliding in the snow. My son really enjoyed seeing them too!

Beautiful Waterfall deep in a ravine in West Virginia during a Winter Snow storm. We descended about 100 feet down to the rushing waters of Keeny’s creek. This is just above the New River Gorge. I am standing on a big snow covered rock trying to keep my balance while the snow is pouring down and the cold winter wind is blowing. My companion is over on the hillside, he is much more help than he realizes, just being here as my buddy.

Hiking out a winter mountain trail after a heavy wet winter snow storm. This is a trail near the highland scenic highway in West Virginia. Rusty and I hiked about two miles out here, it was really beautiful and the snow was about 30 inches or deeper in many places. The sun shining on these trees gave a nice light for a scenic nature picture during our hike.

A big mountain lion in a Winter West Virginia forest scene. Pine trees are heavy with snow while the green mountain laurel peeks out from under the fresh blanket snow. This cougar is well fed and is motionless staring in my direction. I certainly would not want to be this cats next meal. It probably outweighs me by 50 lbs.
