A forest Trillium next to a rock in the forest. These beautiful forest wildflowers are found all over the place in the West Virginia mountains. They have a few varying colors also. The crimson variety are the most beautiful forest flowers but seem to be more rare than the white and light pink variety.

In a small little rock crevasse a rock cave can be imagined with icicles surrounding the opening. The colorful minerals of the Blackwater river give the rocks the orangish colors. This was taken during an extremely arctic blast when the temperatures only reached about 5 degrees throughout the day. Even in the smallest of places the Lord’s creation and beauty is displayed.

While standing on a rock in the middle of this forest stream, I attempted to capture the stream and fall tree colors surrounding us in this mountain gorge. Notice how clear the water is which is made possible with a circular polarized lens filter.

Below a one hundred feet high waterfall these colorful autumn leaves were found upon the forest floor. I thought I would arrange them on a rock in a way to capture the waterfall and creek at the same time. The various shades and colors of these leaves depict the forest that surrounds the beautiful waterfall.

With the ever increasing population of the east coast mountainous areas it is becoming less likely that these magnificent wild cats will ever be seen in the wild again…

Beautiful Waterfall deep in a ravine in West Virginia during a Winter Snow storm. We descended about 100 feet down to the rushing waters of Keeny’s creek. This is just above the New River Gorge. I am standing on a big snow covered rock trying to keep my balance while the snow is pouring down and the cold winter wind is blowing. My companion is over on the hillside, he is much more help than he realizes, just being here as my buddy.
