All around us the fall foliage is changing. As you can see across the tops of the mountains the colors highlight the ridge tops. It will not be long and these mountains will be a glow with the fall foliage colors.

As we look across the valley to the mountaintop on the other side. We can see that the fall colors are changing on the tops of the mountains. However, further down the mountain the tree leaves are still green. This is unique for the fall foliage color change.

Out a hiking trail in Canaan Valley West Virginia a place called table rock offers a spectacular view of the Blackwater River Gorge. As we look around the beautiful mountains we can see that the tops of the mountains have changed colors already while the lower elevations in the mountains still remain green. This is a uniquely interesting variation in the autumn trees color.

Early morning fog slowly drifts across Summit Lake in the mountains of West Virginia on a cool Autumn morning. The colorful fall foliage is beginning to awake as the water reflects from the glassy still lake waters.
