Twinn Falls State Park wv Marsh Fork Falls

A close up photo of the first water falls at twinn falls state park in West Virginia. These falls are not very high, maybe around 20 feet or so. But they are scenic especially when the water is flowing as full as it is today.

Flowery Spring Tree

A beautiful flowering spring tree full of blossoms. Not sure what type of tree this is, but it only blooms like this for about 1 week out of the year. Although it does not bloom long, it is a spectacular floral show.

Lightning flashing across the sky above Washington DC in a springtime lightning storm. This was taken during the cherry blossom festival while the trees are in full bloom.

The Edge of the Falls

Looking over the edge of the waterfall. This is an interesting perspective and the wavy flowing stream makes some neat patterns in a long exposure photo. In a couple more months these mountain laurel will be covered with beautiful flowers for about 1 week.

Flowering Tree

A pretty flowering spring tree. I have been wanting to get a photo of this tree for several years, but it only blooms for about one week. Not sure what it is called but I love it. May try to go back tomorrow and get a couple more with a zoom lens.

Spring Waterfall Mountain Laurel

Beside a beautiful waterfall during the springtime, in the Mountains of West Virginia. The water turns a silky white with the long exposure photography. This particular waterfall is found in the Twinn Falls State park and is one of two waterfalls found on this trail.

Rustic Country Cabin Snow Storm

During a late winter snow we happened across this quaint country cabin in a snow storm. The pine trees beside the cabin add a touch of country charm to the scenic snow storm picture.

Forest Flower Rock

A forest Trillium next to a rock in the forest. These beautiful forest wildflowers are found all over the place in the West Virginia mountains. They have a few varying colors also. The crimson variety are the most beautiful forest flowers but seem to be more rare than the white and light pink variety.

Deep Ravine Winter Waterfall

Deep in a forest ravine near the Blackwater River in West Virginia. The water is ice cold and only flowing because of the constant motion. The temperatures are in the single digits but the ice and winter snow make the scenery alive in the dead of winter.

Cherry Blossom Festival Lightning

Late one evening in Washington DC our country’s capitol, we watch as thunderstorms roll across the background over the City. Lightning flashes over the Monument and the Jefferson memorial. Around the edges you can see the Cherry trees in full bloom.
