This was one of my favorites in this series of images. I love the golden crown found in the middle of this beautiful flower.

A very small spider hiding on these flowers caught my eye as we were walking through the woods. If you look closely you will see it has 4 eyes on top and I would imagine 4 eyes on the bottom.

I had never heard of a robber fly and I mistakenly called this a dragon fly. But never the less this is one of the most vicious looking insects I have ever seen. Especially when magnified at a macro level. Wondering what that is beneath it? It is a moth it has captured and eating. This insect stayed perfectly still as long as I was taking pictures of it. Then when I moved away it fly off. Not sure if it was just being bold or trying to go undetected.

This little fly was maybe 1/5 inch long and landed on this flower pistol. I positioned my tripod in an attempt to capture it with a macro lens and my efforts paid off. If you look closely you can see the individual eye lenses on this hover fly’s eyes. Seems pretty surreal to me, it looks as if it praying with its hands. Hope you like it.

A small summer flower macro photo cropped to show the greater detail of the flower, isolating the flower with extreme bokeh. Even the slightest amount of wind would cause this little flower to move so I used a stick to prop against the stem to hold it still. I like to get the most detail possible in the full size image.

I love to take the time to simply watch a honey bee work. They stay ever so busy and it reminds me of the scripture regarding the ant. The Bible tells us to consider her ways and be wise. I think this bee is wise because it is preparing.

Hover-fly landed on a small flower gathering nectar in the summertime. These little bees are tiny but at least they stay still for a little bit, at least long enough to get their picture. It is amazing what can be seen in the world below our feet if we stop to look we will see many wonders of creation.

A busy bee gathering pollen on some yellow flowers in a country field. This guys was really buzzing around and it was tough to get a shot of him while still enough. Thankfully there was plenty of sunlight in order to allow a fast exposure.

These little flowers are called four o’clocks. They are fairly small little flowers yet they look very life size in this picture. This is actually one exposure of the foreground flower and then another exposure of the background flower combined into one image. I hope you like it.
