Late in the afternoon after hiking down into the bottom of this gorge (about 5 or 6 miles) we are blessed to see the further most lower falls of White Oak Gorge. This photo does not do the autumn scenery justice, it is truly a blessing to see the forest river flowing through the colorful autumn landscape, and it was well worth it.

Early Autumn morning at the Mabry Mill on the Blue Ridge Parkway. There are a few ducks that like to frequent this pond and seemed they wanted to have the cameras attention this morning. So I needed to wait until they chose to make their way to the shore and let the water settle before attempting a reflective shot such as this.

A country road winds through the autumn forest on a bright sunny day. The peace and serenity of this place is beautiful. We simply love the fall colors, combined with the sights and sounds autumn.

Even in October beautiful autumn flowers are showing in areas of West Virginia. This field of autumn flowers gives a wonderful autumn floral surprise.

Amazing what you can do by gathering leaves and flowers from around your neighborhood. This is a collage of fall foliage leaves and various bushes that grow in the autumn season, combined with flowers that are blooming in late summer. If you look there is beauty all around we just need to simply look for the beautiful things of autumn.

Late one autumn evening after sunset in the few minutes left before complete darkness, I captured this shot of the gristmill waterfalls of glade creek. The wind was blowing so it made the trees a little blurry however I still like this shot because it was taken in such low lighting. There are many great opportunities for fall foliage photography at Babcock state park in West Virginia.

Autumn Mountain Foliage along the Highland Scenic Highway. Overcast days are the best time for fall foliage photography. The elevation on this highway is around 5000 feet above sea level and is a beautiful place to drive in the autumn season.
