JVC SR-VS30U Dual Format S-VHS & Pro-DV Recorder

The Mini-DV side of the dual-deck allows direct playback of video which you have recorded on a MiniDV tape. It also allows playback of recordings of DVCAM mini tapes, too. You can connect the deck to a Mini DV camcorder to edit footage. The SRVS30U will read SMPTE timecode on pre-recorded tapes, displaying it (down to seconds) on the viewing monitor. This feature lets you use the machine for pre-edit logging.

The SRVS30U's Easy Edit feature lets you choose up to 8 segments at a time on a MiniDV cassette and automatically copy over to SVHS. And since 8 pre-set programs can be stored in its memory, the deck lets you store 64 segments in total. You may make specific dubs of memorized segments simply by recalling the program number.

The Super VHS side offers Expansion Technology, which allows the broader bandwidth SVHS signal be recorded on standard VHS cassettes. Expansion Technology gives visibly higher quality on less expensive, easier to find VHS tape. It offers the following connection options:
