LoonWatch Poster Contest Entries

The LoonWatch program at the Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute is seeking entries for the 11th annual Loon Appreciation Week poster contest. The contest is open to original photography of any loon species. The winning entry will appear on more than 10,000 posters that will be distributed nationally to highlight Loon Appreciation Week, May 3-9, 2009.

Center for Fine Art Photography Call for Entry Contestants

The Center for Fine Art Photography in Fort Collins, Colorado is hosting a call for entries for an exhibition titled: Our Environment: the Good, Bad and the Ugly. Robert Glenn Ketchum is the juror and is also conducting a workshop during the weekend of the reception in November.

Curved Electronics Could Yield Eye-Like Digital Camera

As if a human eye were popped into a camera, researchers have created a lens-shaped detector and placed it into a digital camera. The result, they say, could give the cameras a wider field of view and the capacity to produce crisper images.
