Microsoft Photosynth 3D Photography
Microsoft photosynth has went live with a public offering of their newest technology for 3D environments constructed from multiple photographs of a site or scene. This technology can be used with multiple Flickr photographs in order to create a 3D like environment.
Users can install photosynth at Photosynth.com but keep in mind that all photos that are used will be public domain and can be seen by anyone on the net. You must have a Windows Live ID to be able to access Photosynth and currently it is only available for the Windows XP and Vista Platforms.
Microsoft live labs has been working on this project for several years and first revealed this technology in 2006 at a 2006 Financial Analyst meeting.
The site includes a guide and a video tutorial for those just getting started. There may still be some bugs so Microsoft asks that you please inform them if you have any problems.
