Field and Screen: Tips and Techniques for Outdoor Photography

Sugarloaf: The North Shore Stewardship Association is offering a free outdoor photography workshop on Saturday, July 26 at Sugarloaf Cove, at 10 a.m.  Landscape Photographer Chris Sandberg will lead a workshop designed to help outdoor photographers improve their artistry and technical skills.

The two-hour class will focus on two important parts of the modern photographic process: finding and capturing outdoor scenes that reflect the photographer’s vision, and presenting those images in the best possible prints.  Topics in  the class will include:

• Avoiding the Obvious Picture

  • What to take in the Woods (and what not to take)
  • How much money do I have to spend to be a good photographer?
  • Using Adobe’s new Photoshop Elements 6 to produce great prints

The class will be appropriate for photographers of all skill levels, and will be held in the Cove’s main Center.  Attendees will also have a chance to win one of Chris’ prints of the beautiful Cove lakeshore!

Space in the class is limited; please call 218- 663-7679 to reserve a spot.  Sugarloaf Cove is located on Highway 61 at milepost 73.3, between Little Marais and Schroeder.
