The last and final waterfall at hills creek this fall is 65 feet high and is by far the most beautiful and picturesque scene at the falls. Especially this time of year, I just love the falls colors in the background.

Nature Photography throughout the Mountains and Forests.

Snowy Creek in West Virginia

A beautiful snowy creek in West Virginia. The reflection on the water of the trees makes this pictures unique. This was shot inches away from the water top to give the reflective quality of the water more notice. I just love the creeks and rocks in West Virginia especially after a snow.

This is a picture of a snow and icy creek in the West Virginia Monongahela Forest. This was shot right in the middle of a snow storm. Wow this place is a winter wonderland. Imagine that the Bible says that The Blood of Jesus washes us whiter than snow!

Wildlife photography and beautiful old mills, barns and churches.

Waterfall at the Falls of Hills Creek

This is a picture of a small waterfall but closer to the creek and further down the mountain. It is still early morning as you can tell from the sun shining on the top of the mountain. What cool clean and crisp air, the sound of the rushing water is amazing.

Waterfall at the Falls of Hills Creek

Turning to your right you can see the middle of the three waterfalls at the Falls of Hills Creek. This fall is approximately 40 feet high and is breathtakingly beautiful. The sun has not quite made it to this waterfall yet this morning so the lighting or the morning gives a gray appearance to the surrounding rock. The moss on the side of the hill is lush and healthy from the abundant supply of fresh clean mountain water.

Trees in the height of Fall colors

What a gorgeous fall leaf picture of trees. These trees are almost perfectly balanced in color. It is such a wonderful pleasure to walk through the woods when the leaves are changing and see the beauty that God has created. Such a great balance of color and no man take care of this but the creation of God maintains HIS wonder.

65 foot high waterfall at the Falls of Hills Creek

The last waterfall of the three at the Falls of Hills Creek is an amazing 65 feet high. It is still not completely day yet. You can see the sunshine at the top of the picture similar to the others. It is about a 1 mile hike down the mountain to get here. It is well worth the trip if you ever come here. It is easy coming down but going back up is the work out.

Creek and Valley below the Falls of Hills Creek

When you turn to the left from the last of the third waterfalls you can see down the valley where the rest of the creek flows. There are not any leaves on the trees yet so you have a great view down the valley. The moss and other ground vegetation is very healthy here as you can see. What a beautiful scenic picture.

Icicles hanging on the side of a rock cliff in the West Virginia Monongahela Forest. There is some interesting colored moss that is on these rocks that gives them an unusual collage of colors. You don't see shots like this everyday.

Here is some fungi growing on the side of a rock. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. This picture was shot with my old Canon Power-shot A50 when I first started taking pictures several years ago. Things have changed since then. I love my 350 XT it provides a much more professional result.

On top of snowshoe mountain resort in West Virginia

Snowshoe mountain is a resort area that has beautiful views and scenery all around. Notice the sun rays shining from between the clouds on parts of the mountains across the valley. This is just after the winter skiing season and there are not many people here. The village at the top of the mountain is really neat. It is kind of like an old Swedish town.

Halfway up the hiking trail at Seneca Rock

Can you believe that people actually climb up the face of that! I would just rather take the trail and enjoy the scenery as I go. But I guess different people like different things. This picture was taken from 1/2 way up. This is about 1.5 miles from the bottom.

Spring daffodils in West Virginia

Some spring daffodils coming up in late mid-late March. These emerging from a cold dead winter always remind me of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. How HE was in the heart of the earth three days and three nights and resurrected on the third day. HE is the first of many who will resurrect because he lives.

How to be Saved
When through the woods and forest glades I wander, I hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees; When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze;
Then sings my soul, my savior GOD to Thee, How great thou art!

Colorful rocky creek bed in the West Virginia Monongahel Forest

During a hike in the West Virginia Monongahela forest we found a nice little creek that was decorated with colorful rocks meandering through the forest. This is so peaceful that all you can hear is the water and the snow flakes landing on the ground.

Old Crosses on a hill

These are some Crosses that I saw on the way home from the mountains. These reminded me of Mount Calvary and the Price that Christ Jesus paid for me. Even though I just like all others was a sinner and deserved a judgment of hell and fire. Jesus was compassionate and provided the way to salvation!

Old Fashioned Country Church in the Forest

This is an old timey looking church. There are so many of these throughout the mountainous areas of West Virginia. It is sad when we see them closed down. It looks like this one is well kept. There is nothing like hearing the old fashioned Gospel of Jesus Christ.

This is a beautiful azalea in full bloom. What bright pink colors the Lord makes. HE is a wonderful artist. These flowers smell especially fragrant. These are one of my favorite flowers.

High in the tops of some majestic oak trees of the fall. It won't be long and the leaves will be falling from the beautiful giants. Makes me long for going home when I look into the sky through the trees.

Seneca rock is a very unique mountain rock formation in northern West Virginia. This picture was captured just before sunrise as the sun was peeking through the gap at the top of the mountain.

Why not just walk out in the middle of the creek and take a picture? This is a beautiful creek lined with rocks all the way up. I have not found any trout in the waters here, they must be on down stream.
