For the past several years we have hiked the deep forests of the mountains in West Virginia while capturing these moments
with a high resolution digital camera.


In our travels we have visited the high reaches of the North Fork Mountain Range, all the way to the bogs and marshes of
cranberry glades.

I also thought I would give some insight as to who I am and what I am about. Forest Wander was an idea that the Lord inspired me to create based on the song How Great Thou Art! That is one of, if not the all time favorite worship song the Lord has blessed me with. I was saved on May 9th, 2004 on Mothers Day. I had been through some pretty rough times when my son had almost lost his life 2 times due to two accidents. I realized that I needed help and that my wife and I could not any longer get through this life on our own. I was miserably deep in depression and had no way out.

I had been to church off and on all of my life. I had heard about religion and thought I knew what it was all about. I figured I had never hurt anyone and that I was a pretty good 'ol boy. But, I realized through the WORD of God that it has nothing to do with me, but it has all to do with Him! People are not sent to Hell because of their sin. They are sent to Hell because they have turned down the only begotten son of God and what He has already finished on the Cross of Calvary. Jesus said "this is the condemnation that light is come into the world and that men loved darkness rather than light", That light is Jesus Christ. You ever notice that men love to hear bad news? They don't like good news. Well Jesus spoke this 2000 years ago when He walked the earth. There is a scripture that says (and yes I do mean SAYS) "As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country", Jesus is Good news people! He is not bad news. The bad news is this world and the hate and crime and violence.

I have been saved for some time now and it is the best life you can live. Because any other way is death and hell. I know that my hope is not in this life only but that it is in eternity with Jesus. You can have that same peace also, if you are ready to realize what Jesus did for you and that you cannot get through this life on your own and that you realize that you are going to hell without him.

 

I now have a family of 5. A twin boy and girl and our little boy who was hurt. They are all healthy as can be and it is all by the grace of God. Me and my oldest son hike throughout the forests and take time to pray and read scripture. We even take turns quoting verses from the Bible. When we are out hiking we take pictures and these are the images that are posted on forest wander. We make a small amount of money from advertising. But it is not even enough to pay for the hosting and time we put into doing it. We have yet to break even with worldly money. NO, I am not rich in this world's money. However, with the chance that someone may be touched and give their life to Jesus Christ it is all worth the effort. I simply want others who do not have the peace that the Lord has to offer to realize His love and accept His gift. 

When you look at some of these images that the Lord has allowed me to take you realize that what you see was not created by accident. You realize that God loves beauty and color and this is just a glimpse of what heaven is going to be like. This earth was cursed since the Garden of Eden. The Bible says that there is going to be a new heaven and a new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness. Just imagine a world where sin has never dwelled and never will dwell. If you think some of these pictures are beautiful then picture the new heaven and new earth. What a gift and opportunity for you to be saved. Won't you join me there? It is as simple as this. Salvation comes through trusting Jesus as the sacrifice for your sins and loving Jesus and His precious Blood for what He has done, and that is it!
