    have just come across your pic of abandoned coal mine at Hawkes Nest WV
    This was my great grandfather’s mine Croft & Evans in Mill Creek Ansted WV He died in an explosion at the mine
    He emigrated from Wales in the around 1887, beleived to have found gold in South Dakota and then opened up the mine
